Our Laboratory uses high throughput sequencing and other techniques to investigate the proteins that regulate RNA and thereby affect gene expression. Our interest in this system originated from a study of naturally occurring tumor immunity associated with a group of rare brain disorders, and has since expanded to neuron-specific RNA-binding proteins in the mammalian brain, and more generally to functional genomics and human disease.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting staff members with the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Responsibilities include: receiving and distributing packages/orders; maintaining a clean and well-organized work area in the lab and clinical clean rooms; cleaning equipment and monitoring and documenting environmental conditions in the clinical laboratory; maintaining common supplies for the lab and coordinating with Lab Administrator; cleaning/organizing glassware for daily use; disposal of biological waste; responsible for preparing media stock such as Agar and LB plates and other solutions as needed for the lab; assist with other lab duties as assigned. The targeted salary is $42,500 to $52,500.
High school diploma required. Prior experience within a research lab is a plus. Enthusiasm for maintaining a clean and tidy workspace and being a team player. Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
