Department Description
The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies, and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite as well as its own research pharmacy. Detailed Description
The Manager, Clinical Research Facilitation Office will be responsible for oversight and management of the Clinical Research Facilitation Department at The Rockefeller University Hospital (RUH) and The Rockefeller University Center for Clinical and Translational Science (RUCCTS). The manager will work with facilitation staff on the education, coordination, and development of protocols with investigators wishing to conduct clinical research at The Rockefeller University Hospital, employing the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The manager will be responsible for leading and managing a core of coordinators who will collectively assist investigators through the navigation process through protocol development, implementation, and closure. The Manager will manage human resources for the facilitation department, which includes recruitment, hiring, evaluations, retention, discipline, and termination. The Manager will also serve as a member of the senior leadership team participating in and leading various committees and workgroups. The manager will act as a liaison between the Clinical Investigator and the Nursing Department and the Clinical Research Support Office and other departments in the coordination of protocol development, implementation, and clinical trial execution. The manager will develop and maintain systems that support the efficient and effective functioning of clinical research. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required, certified Clinical Research Certification (CCRC) through ACRP, Certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Must have at least 6 years of IND/IDE clinical research protocol management and coordination experience, with a High-level working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and FDA Guidelines. Must be proficient with computer systems, Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Databases, and Spreadsheets. Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, and manage time effectively, required. Excellent leadership skills, and interpersonal and communication skills, are required.
